Getaway to Chatsworth, in England. We will visit the Beyond Limits exhibition organized by Sotheby’s (private sale). On this occasion, a set of monumental sculptures, both modern and contemporary, will be shown in the gardens of the property of the Dukes of Devonshire. We will also visit Chatsworth House and its more classical collections. Optionally, an extension is planned in London for the Frieze Art Fair.

Private tour of the Koekoekschmuck in the “Miljoenenkwartier” in Ghent. In November 2011, Villa de Bondt again organises a contemporary jewellery exhibition. Ted Noten’s work will be exhibited in the Villa de Bondt and in a dozen other houses in the neighbourhood. A unique event that will also allow to discover some beautiful houses.
At the invitation of the Groeninge collectors club, which celebrates its 25th anniversary, we are invited to attend a lecture by Chris Dercon, Director of the Tate Modern. Daytrip to Metz in Lorraine where the FRAC (Fond Régional d’Art Contemporain) organised the exhibition “Gravity, weightless narratives”. The trip ended with a visit to the Centre d’Art Contemporain of the Delme Synagogue to view an exhibition dedicated to Julien Prévieux.

Daytrip to Antwerp for a visit to the Atelier of David Claerbout, a well-known videast, as well as the Centre for Contemporary Art, Extra City, where we will visit two exhibitions, one of Luke Fowler (The Nine Monads Of David Bell), the other of Joachim Koester (Numerous Incidents Of Indefinite Outcome).
Daytrip to Düsseldorf for exhibitions by the Dutch duo Jeroen de Rijke en Willem de Rooij at the K21 and the Japanese artist Hiroshi Sugimoto at the K20. We end the day with a visit to the gallery Sies+Höke.
Conference by Fei Dawei, Artistic Director of the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing: Chinese contemporary art, the current status (in French). The UCCA opened early November 2007 and realises the ultimate dream of the Belgian collectors Guy and Myriam Ullens de Schooten.

Looking ahead to the Art Brussels fair (opening the day after), The Art Society is organising a conference dedicated to Russian contemporary art. The French collector Pierre Brochet will be our guest speaker and the panel also includes 3 galleries from Moscow: Aidan, Regina & XL Gallery.
Pierre Brochet lives and works in Moscow and has accumulated what is now regarded as one of the most valuable and extensive collections of Russian contemporary art in the world.

A private viewing at argos in Brussels. This centre for contemporary audiovisual arts is being renovated at the moment and reopens to the public on November 25th with two exhibitions. On the one hand we have the exhibition Being, In Brussels, which assembles the work of some of the international artists who reside and work in Brussels (such as Jota Castro, Pierre Bismuth en Kendelll Geers).
